The 17th Fips-Mouche European Fly Fishing Championship is taking place in the Czech Republic from the 30th May 2011 to the 6th June 2011. The Official Hotel is Hotel Ruze in Rozmberk, South Bohemia. There is 3 river sessions, 1 lake session and 1 bank session in the championship. The minimum size limit is 18cm’s.
The Five Sessions are as below:
- Vltava 29P – River Session – between Lipno Reservoir and the Equalizing Reservoir of Lipno 2. In the Sector 1 (Vltava 29P) there will be a rotation between beats. This gives the competitor double the beat length to fish. For example, Competitor 1 fishes beat 1 for 90 minutes, then has 30 minutes for rotation and then fishes beat 2 for 90 minutes. Competitor 2 fishes beat 2 and after 90 minutes fishing followed by the rotation then fishes beat 1. In the case of odd number of teams the system of rotation will be clarified during the Captain’s meeting.
- Vltava 29 – Boat Session – on the Equalizing Reservoir of Lipno 2.
- Vltava 28 Upper Part – River Session – just below the town of Vyssi Brod.
- Vltava 28 Lower Part – River Session – below the upper part of Vltava 28 and above the town of Rozmberk.
- Malse 6 – Kvetonov Lake – Bank Session – there will be a rotation in place in this session so that all competitors fish all four banks. During bank fishing in the lake, there will be 4 periods of 45 minutes fishing and 3 times 20 minutes for the rotation between beats. Beats will be at least 30 metres.
